No more Saturday mail
Post Office will quit mail Saturday mail delivery August 5.
So I wonder, do they charge full rate for all the junk mail, or do they get a "bulk" rate? If so, maybe start charging those garbage peddlers full price and could afford to stick with sat deliver? If nothing else, would be less junk to throw out.
The last delivery that I got from Amazon was shipped via FedEx ground. FedEx delivered the large to my local post office and then my mail carrier delivered the parcel with the regular mail delivery.

meh, I don't even check it everday.
I check the mailbox about two days a week. USPS could cut back to M-W-F service and I wouldn't even notice.
We haven't had Saturday delivery for decades in the Great White. Somehow we survived. And we just killed the CAN penny on Monday, since it too made no sense economically. :D

it won't save any money, nobody will get laid off, nothing will change, people will be shifted around, that's all folks.
Oh, maybe the propane/ng bill will go down. |
Not a problem for me. Package delivery on Saturday would give them a competitive advantage over FedEx & UPS.

This is all George Bush's fault!
:mad::mad::mad: |
More postal employee gunfight adventures...
Should have done this years ago but I'm sure the Letter Carriers Union had something to do with it.
Dats the gubmint for ya, instead of improving service and efficiency they reduce service and efficiency and think it's going to save money.
Actually thats true, George Bush his Senate and Congress.
Bush hates mail :D
and I won't miss it either... |
They lose $43 Million/ day. Sorry for what has become of your Postal service Mr. Franklin.
I just heard on the news that there are more USPS offices than all of the Wal-Marts, Starbucks and McDonald's combined.

I'm all for them quiting, usually junk mail anyway.
Anybody care to predict the year of the demise of the USPS? Man, wish I could go in the red $16 Billion per year and still be around.
