In all seriousness...that's exactly why I choose a .45, because of it's legendary and time-proven stopping power. I want the "margin of error" to be on my side if it ever comes down to that. If I weren't comfortable with my capability with a .45, then a 12 ga. "double naught" would be my choich :D. For the OP's reference...my steel Combat Commander's recoil seems absolutely "tame" compared to a heavier frame .357 mag (6" M27) or down right wussified next to a .44 mag "canon". Of course, .44 Specials are more than effective too...YMMV.
