I was born without a fear of technology. Built my first "personal computer" in 1976 when it was just plain weird to have a computer. Worked with the two Steves. Managed development of Apple logo and brand character. Later worked with Intel, Microsoft, Quarterdeck, AMD, blah blah blah...

Did you have direct contact with the two Steves? Just wondering what they were like back in the day.

My screen name is a reference to the wetness and sogginess of the Great Pacific Northwest.

LJ851 02-07-2013 07:43 AM

LJ is my first two initials, 851 is the first Ducati i bought, an 851/888 superbike fresh off the bankings of Daytona that i converted back to (barely) street legality. It's currently in the living room awaiting a 955 engine build.

Yes, I was pretty close with Jobs. Stayed friendly for 20+ years until he got pissed at me for giving my opinion on the Think Different campaign. Woz was still working at HP, and we were always friendly, but he was more distant.

Darn, from your vast library of images, I was sure your name contained some hidden reference to boobies...

Are we talking oil or water based?..makes all the difference in interpretation, buddy :)

I really need more work to do.

Mine is from the fond memories of flying 20 series LearJets. I'm rated in planes that look like video games in the front., NOTHInG compares to the pure, raw, power those aircraft have. Visceral!

pwd72s 02-07-2013 08:18 AM

Pretty obvious...my initials and the old ex beater...miss it in some ways, glad it's gone in others. All the old timers here know the story, this posted for the benefit of the newbies.

A combination of a nickname I picked up in the Navy and what I do now for a living (SATMan) and my Porsche (70S).
