Before its Too Late...

Top five regrets of the dying | Life and style | guardian.co.uk

Interesting read...

You should strive to fall 'outside the norm' of that nurse's findings.

If you don't want to one day be on your death bed and pondering, "I wish I had...",
then today is the day to start to remedy that possibility.

#6 was "I wish I had more sex"....

That isn't necessarily a deathbed regret.

More like a state of mind from adolescence on...

I think #3 (I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings) is full of schit. We live in a PC world. Go around expressing your true feelings and see how well that works for you. Maybe it flies with House MD, but that's television.

edit: Or maybe we do want to express our feelings--but we just don't want others to express theirs.

Quality not quantity my dear...its very easy to get laid pretty much anytime but to have really great sex with a fun partner is sublime...:)

2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

Nobody posting thousands of comments in the daytime here on PPOT will have this regret. :D

But seriously, while I understand this regret, it is a bit stupid. Most guys passing now were the only breadwinners in the family. Not much of a choice but go out and work hard to feed the family, house them decently and allow the kids a good education. You just need to get home afterwards instead of spending the evening at the pub.

i dont agree with any of those.

in the end..if there are any regrets at all, i suppose they would be: "i wish i lived a healthier life"

ate less junk, not been so fat, not gotten diabetes, not started smoking, not started drinking..you know..happy thoughts!

Plenty of folks would rather die young than live healthy, or at least make that bet.

It is all fine if you don't lose the bet. Someone like Keith Richards probably is mildly amused that he still is alive. There is definitely a time to go and being too fit may drag it out too long. But kicking the bucket in your 50s or 60s can't be the preference for any sane person IMHO. Usually "taking the bet" happens while you still feel well ...

Keef stepping to the mic a few years back: "It's great to be here tonight...hell, it's great to be anywhere tonight"!

Crowd goes crazy :D

Been at the bedside of a friend who partied himself to death (liver and kidney failure at 47).

It wasn't pretty...
