Happy Prez Day ...now take the quiz...

Can you pass a basic 10-question quiz on the presidents? - Yahoo! News

I guessed on two and got them right. Some easy, some not so but...

4/10.
Now I have to take the depression quiz.

vash 02-18-2013 09:45 AM

is the first quiz question:

are you sitting on your couch NOT working?

YES!!

Shaun @ Tru6 02-18-2013 09:53 AM

5, that was hard!

Hugh R 02-18-2013 09:53 AM

Max has been in Pre-AP history all year and its been kicking his tail, been studying with him so its a bit fresh...The Teddy R, Ford and Hoover ones were pure logic, the confed was a guess I got right - all the others were from his class notes review I do with him at night.

Me too. 4 out of 10.

Erakad 02-18-2013 10:11 AM

6 out of 10...could have had 8

I got a little over half right too. They aren't "basic" questions. Some where, and some were pretty good questions that required some good knowledge. But some were the historical version of Trivial Pursuit. Although I could kick myslef for not remembering that Jackson, Like Tildon, won the popular vote but lost the electoral college. I saw Tildon and didn't even think to look any further. The last Whig, who's portrait is who's, those aren't really serious questions with historical significance. But if you do know that off the top of your head, chances are you do know a lot of stuff that is historically significant.

I agree. A better quiz would focus on which presidents achieved what changes in the US, and things of that nature.

romad 02-18-2013 10:49 AM

30 % and I considered my history knowledge substantially better than the average bear. But ready whose dog is it? and I though old Rutherford carried more weight.

flatbutt 02-18-2013 11:22 AM

Trivia at best and meaningless in terms of history.

Quiz Completed

Thank you for completing our quiz on the presidents!

You scored 90%!

ossiblue 02-18-2013 11:32 AM

8/10, but I taught U.S. history. Agree that many were basically trivia and don't indicate much beyond useless knowledge (campaigning with King Tut?, c'mon.) Even with the experience I had in teaching, much of the information would not be included in typical courses. Still, it's fun to know what you don't know.

vash 02-18-2013 11:59 AM

i got a 50...FAIL!

Aggie93 02-18-2013 12:37 PM

Another 4/10. I actually knew those. Thought I would have gotten at least one guess right. There were about 3 I could narrow down to 2.

flatbutt 02-18-2013 02:10 PM

If you fail at something that is useless...does that mean you are useful?

MRM 02-18-2013 05:37 PM

The fact that this quiz was kind of a "gotcha" trivial pursuit game does not detract from the Luberter's achievement in scoring a perfect 10. I did not mean to diminish his accomplishment.

M.D. Holloway 02-18-2013 06:22 PM

The dog pic was half logic - the B&W and the breed put it in the right decade plus I remember my Dad telling me about King Tut the dog ;). The port of the bearded dude was a guess as was the confed.
