Velocity channel on cable had a documentary a few weeks ago on the "Killer B's" as they got to be known back in the 80's. The Audi Quattros started the arms race in rallying that eventually got out of control. The monster cars and very little if any crowd control eventually killed Group B rallying.

Funny how much time has gone by since those monster cars were built - and people still talk about them. They are legend.

anti-lag. This keeps the turbo spinning when off the throttle so that when you exit a corner and jump back on the throttle the turbo boost is still "on boil". There are a couple of ways of doing it, but essentially, at throttle lift, timing is way retarded and air is injected into the engine by part throttle or secondary air injector. Net-net, is mostly unburnt fuel exploding in the exhaust and keeping the turbo spinning to a nominal boost.
