How to watch WSBK racing?

So, unless some last minute miracle takes place, it looks like the *******s that are running Speed these days have decided to drop TV coverage of the World Superbike championship for 2013. May they never have a day on this earth without fleas...

Anyway, what options are there for watching these races online? I'd prefer to watch them on a TV, so if there is a way to connect an old TV (non-HD) to a computer, that's even better.

Thanks, in advance.

Used to be happauge had a tv video card that took up a pci slot in your computer. It had a video out that you could hook up to either rca imputs on the back of your tv or an old vcr as well as a headphone jack that with a splitter from radio shack you could hook up stereo sound outputs. Look on the website pricewatch under happauge to see if you can find one. Never have tried this with windows 7, only windows 98se and xp. Hope this helps.

Speed as we know it is gone. It will in the future be some sort of Fox sports channel with Nascar programming.

Google 666 MotoGP

Thanks for the info so far. What I was hoping to find was a website for one of the broadcasters in another English-speaking country that aired their coverage on line, or something like what Dorna provides for MotoGP. This 666sicco guy looks like he has some sort of bootleg or pirated coverage. Ever watched it? Does he provide coverage live, or is it archived and shown later?

They are uploaded torrents of the BBC and/or EuroSport broadcasts. Its how I watch all of my racing. They are usually posted within a a couple hours of the finish of the live race.

MotoGP offers a season pass for something like $130 which you purchase and can then watch races on their website. WSBK does not offer something similar. Since they are not broadcasting in the US now, downloading torrents is the only way to watch, as far as I know.

You watch these on your computer, or your TV? How's the picture quality? What sort of Download speed is required?

I watch on the computer, or stream to a TV via Apple TV. You could also plug your computer into a TV with an HDMI cable. They are HD quality. I have dog slow internet connections and can download most races in around a half hour. BTW, the BBC/EuroSport broadcasts are far superior to the crap SpeedTV put together.

Don't be surprised to see most race series go the way of pay to watch like Moto GP. More money straight in the pocket for the series and less time going through last minute contract negotiations with TV Channels who want to pay as little as possible.

I've been using this for a while for basketball, football, and F1. They have a tab for MotoGP.

I am very pleased with it, although the Uva vs. UNC game was not on last weekend.

Well, here's an interesting twist:

Man, I hope that doesn't happen, since my local cable company doesn't carry that channel.

What, you don't think in cable co in OK will ever pick up Al Jazerra?

javadog 02-19-2013 10:05 AM

****, that's all I need is yet another obscure channel to chase. I can remember when we didn't even get Speedvision.

And no, I'm not nailing a satelite dish onto the side of the house...

Did a little digging and found out that SPEED is broadcasting the entire season in Australia. And, they offer better coverage than we ever got in the US. 7 hours of coverage for the opening round...

****ers...

Try BBC uk "iplayer.com"

Its for UK but if it detects outside ip address it allows you to pay a fee.

Otherwise just cloak your real address so it looks like a Uk ip address.

Theres also an independant international service hub which shows UK tv for a fee for a receiver box - then downloaded via the internet. (with a week long catch up facility)

Watch British Channels on your TV Anywhere in the World!

It's starting to look bad:

"beIN Sport USA, Al Jazeera's American sports channel, will take over broadcasting WSBK in the USA".

WTF is "beIN Sport USA"?
