Took a long drive in a BUICK Regal GS..Shock!!

Hello.
My Son and I took a test drive for a couple of hours in a Regal GS.
Actually my Son introduced me to the car.

I never thought in my life-time that I'd be so intrigued by ANY Buick

Man, when I opened the drivers door-interior and body, black on black-it was spectacular.
Beautiful interior without any woodgrain anywhere!
The 6-speed transmission was wonderful to play with.
I was shocked to find out that there wasn't any torque steer whatsoever.
The acceleration was great and I love the power coming on when the turbo kicks in.
Hardly any lag.
What a car...WHAT A BUICK!!!
The experience stays in my mind.
Very-very nice car.
Just Saying.

Wonderful cars, really

Most Pelicans will hate it without ever really knowing anything about it. That's too bad.

YES!
The car was identical.
I am still not well-so to speak- in what I experienced..IN A BUICK! And God damb it it's NORTH AMERICAN.
Opening the drivers door and peering in was a shock.
BEAUTIFUL is no more or less than I can express.
Puts many a Porsche to shame..Sans newest Cayenne and Pan.
It was a fantastic experience..

They seem like nice cars, but I don't think I am yet old enough for a Buick.

What was your experience with the Buick?

The Buick Regal is really a German car. The first ones were built in Russelsheim, but now they're built here.

In other parts of the world it's known as a Opel Insignia (Vauxall Insignia in the UK).

The hot version of Opel is OPC (like AMG in M-B, or M is to BMW), and the Insignia OPC is similar to the Regal GS, although the Opels can be hotter, and all wheel drive.

It's popular to hot-rod the Regals with Opel parts.....everything just bolts on

Having flown a 1M miles in the last 15 years I have had my share of rental car fleet experiences. I will say that over the last 3 years the domestic cars are seriously catching up. Last month I had a rental '12 Ford focus for a week. I came away impressed. It had 20k+ miles and not a rattle or shimmy. Solid 37 mpg combined and easily as nice to drive as my Audi TT.

We're actively shopping for a 'new' (used under 30K miles) daily driver for my wife. Started out thinking MB E350 or BMW 5 series but frankly we came away cold. Surprisingly the wife is currently leaning to the smaller Lexus IS 250. The Infinity G35 is also in the running but nothing is solid until we actually drive some examples.

This thread has thrown a wrench into the works. Wife just walked in and I said "What do you think when you hear the word Buick". "Dad's old car" was her response. Look at this -

Not our color but worth a look and drive. We are heading out for a look tomorrow.

Hello.
I am very picky , i.e sensitive on this issue as well. Not only on vehicles but most manufactured goods.
The turn stalk and switches did not have any residual thoughts to me.-No complaints.
They clicked, had resistance and clicked back again to in reset mode.
Nice sound and resistance. No feeling of a can and a spoon.
High quality feel .
This vehicle that we tried was going for $39998...used!
It was a 2012, with 21,000k!
That is almost $10k more than most are asking in other places in Canada AND this lower price includes almost Demo mileage ..In Kilometers.

You can buy brand new leftover 2012s here for $4,500 off MSRP, and loaded GS 6spds run $38K....so $33,500 brand new (USD)
