What Is this thing? Antique electric Telegraph?
Trying to figure out what this thing was used for so I can sell it Pat dec. 30 1902. The bottom is suposed to have a board covering the wires I would say thats probrobly where the label was. Looks to me like some sort of switchboard maybe for telegraph moorse code with the electro magnet cylender? Im not sure what the brass pipes are for and why the tube pulls out of the cylender. Any ideas?

Some kind of medical machine, maybe? Lots of quacks at the turn of the 20th century, patenting all kinds of machines to cure what ails ya.

 The REALLY frightening part of the invention is not pictured here-- that's just the coil. See the long brass "handles" that you have? Those are intended to be grasped in the hands for Electroshock Therapy. Reminds me of when we were kids and had a few junk telephone generators / dynamo like this:  We'd play stoopid games where as one would hold a terminal and hold a hand to the next person and so forth. Then someone would crank that dynamo and everyone would get a shock

In going through the patent process, you come across some truly bizarre ideas and pictures.
This one is my favorite. They should have a number just for the expression on his face..
