glassdoor.com

How many are registered on glassdoor.com?

I have posted there twice in the last two weeks. Is your company there? Are the reviews accurate?

I'd like to know as I am looking for a new company. They have some great information, if accurate. Company review, salary, and interview info.

My company is there and from some of the reviews, it's obvious who wrote them. I wouldn't touch it with a 10' pole unless it was at least two jobs ago.

Yeah, I hesitate on giving anything recent. I would have to believe companies are not happy with some of the scathing reviews. I wonder how the website protects themselves from libel?

Big Daddy is but, my particular group isn't.

Why would they be liable for libel any more than Pelican is for what we write here (most recently about U-Haul)?

I actually agree with most of the comments about my company, but I've been here a while, know everyone and all the politics. If I weren't a longtimer at this company, I'd still get the hint after reading so many similar comments by people in various job roles here.

If 70% of the reviews mention absentee CEO or lack of career path or great work/life balance, I think I get the picture. They can't all be disgruntled former employees.

My company is really big on internal surveys, makes them very long and detailed and probably pays big money for them. But the results never change anything. Last year the section for just my team got a 0% confidence rating in opportunity for advancement. That's ZERO, as in every single person on our team entered 0 on a scale of 0 - 10. Boss said it was our fault for not seeking out other roles, sen. mgt. ignored it. That's how they roll.

Very accurate for us, completely incompetent upper management and "shady business practices," per one of the reviews. They nailed it.

It's either a front for:
-pay-to-play corporate PR,
-blatant stock market manipulation,
-spam bot shills using professional job seekers as R&D bait,
-else, the website is trying to completely open itself up to libel and discovery lawsuits en mass.

The end of 1st amendment starts here.
Kill this, kill all public corporate criticism using semi-anonymous public review.

Highly accurate for my current employer, and for my last one too. Used for my interviews and negotiations for last two jobs.

Let me clarify: salary info and benefits etc as well as info about interviewing we're highly accurate, did not really pay attention to the ad hoc company reviews by employees.

Unbelievably accurate for my current and last employer...

Found this gem on my last employer, "If you don't drink the kool-aid and plan on being part of the bro-club, kiss upward mobility goodbye!"

HA!

I'm surprised you haven't quit.

HA!

That's how it is at a lot of companies these days. We have what are called "safe zone" calls or Q&A sessions with sen. mgt., which means you can ask or say anything without fear of reprisals....which, by definition, pretty much means you need to be in fear of reprisals. It's very obvious when the sen. mgt. has made a decision and that will be the new direction. Get onboard and play the game. The time for debate has passed. Just a fact of life in this job market.
