anyone report bad bus drivers?

I just about had it with some of them, well all of them. He got into it with me today telling me to get off and he will kick my ass. They need to have how am I driving today stickers on them? We were stopped at a red light so this ******* shoves that goddamn bus right into my lane leaving about 3 inches of space between my new 4runner and his bus and kept inching coming closer. Before the light changes he jumps out in red and starts going nearly taking off my bumper with the entire front length of his bus. I went and held my ground until I got past the intersection. he skips a stop and comes after me at 2" off my ass all the way to the next light. He screams and ask me if I knew how to drive and continue to call me names. He tried the same thing and this time, his mirror was really close to me. Out of principle I refuse to let him go, plus I had the right of way. Now he wants to fight me and threaten to kick my ass.

I have never like those guys from way back in my cycling days. We would get in each others way for 10 miles in light traffic going about the same speed.

I want to report the ones who pull out a foot from their stop with old ladies running up to the front begging him to open the door but they refuse to open it only to sit at a red light for the next 3 minutes. Real winners.

I'd call the police and tell them the driver was road raging. Do this during the event.

I do it all the time. I have the numbers programmed in my phone.
Between the commuter buses and the school busses, they are terrors.

I did, in Vancouver- the Lynn Valley bus. The bus driver tried running me into a curb, while i was on my motorcycle. He (the bus driver) then stopped, wanting to get into a fight.
The complaint went absolutely nowhere - in spite of on board cameras.

School buses are the worst.....I saw one pass a cop going 15 mph over the limit....cop did nothing. They seem to be immune to any and all traffic laws. If the cop had pulled the bus over, the kids would have been late to school and the parents would be screaming threatening to sue!

^^^ This the correct answer. Why didn't you do this? PPOT can't do anything about it.

Not sure if the cops would do anything about it either. I tried to call in a road rage once. The Massachusetts State Trooper told me to write a letter to the DMV, as they had more important crime to solve.

Also, in fairness it usually takes two to engage in this type of behavior. You state that you "held your ground" and "out of principle I refuse to let him go"...that is road-raging, just of the passive aggressive variety.

Next time, just let the bus go and go about your way. Busses are big and slow. I've never had a problem going around them.

Come on Dennis, this is someone trying to intimate you while "breaking the law" inching their way into traffic from a dead stop on the side of the road. I hit the gas and went around him just like you said but he wanted it more then that. I am not asking PPOT to do anything about it, but wanted to find out if anyone had had any success in reporting bad bus drivers and what the results were. This is like me coming up 3" from your face with you next in line to check out in the market and demand that I go ahead of you with a line of people behind you and continue to get closer to your face as we speak. What would you say, yeah go ahead?

If you were to do what that bus did around your neighborhood in your car or truck, a big fat ticket with your name on it will be given to you with a smile for sure.

Look be careful - not worth it taking it up with a bus. At least not in Russia:

I have no experience reporting bus drivers. Some of them are dicks, but I just let it go.

Quoted for naive silliness. Go back and read the OP, slowly.

Calling the police is a waste of time, absolutely no good at all could possibly come from doing this, potential bad can come from it.

Only way anything happens is if you let him change lanes into you, because then there will be a police report, which may or may not be accurate. You may not survive this course of action, so the only reasonable response is to back way off. That bus driver knows all this and I guarantee it was not the first or the last time he acts like this.

I've never done it with a bus before, but have with a taxi and a service truck with the "how's my driving" stickers on them. I would think calling the bus driver's boss would get a lot more response than calling the cops. Can't be too hard to note the bus number, time and location and track down the person to whom the driver reports.

I know guys, it isn't worth the time. I am just looking for some silly outcome just to see if anyone's done it. Reporting them is like talking to a rock. Talking to the cops would be like talking to the wind. I am just tired of the bullying. This kind of crap happens all the time here.

I don't know the answer to this, but from the work I do with the MTA (that's who runs the busses here in LA), I don't think much would come out of any complaint. The MTA is government bureaucracy defined.

However, I have heard from an MTA driver that accidents where the bus rearends another vehicle is considered differently than other accident scenarios, from the perspective of culpability of the driver. So if you're gonna mix it up with a bus, just make sure they hit your from behind.

I try to drive clear of any large vehicles or buses. They sometimes have a hard time seeing small vehicles. I wouldn't want to report anyone unless I thought the operator was under the influence or was endangering some one by road raging..

You passed the eye test. LOL On a serious note Here in NYC Bus drivers have to be very cautious. The smallest complaint or accident gets the operator off the vehicle at the end of his or her shift and drug tested and reviewed.
