"Stompin" Tom is gone
"Stompin" Tom Conners, C&W singer and song writer has died at age 77. He wrote the "Hockey Song" and was considered by most as a "good Canadian kid".
RIP Stompin

He'll always be "Bud the Spud from the bright red mud". (PEI) Not born here but raised here, just up the road from where I sit right now.
IMO his best song "Sudbury Saturday night" |

One news report said he had recorded a bunch of material (4 albums worth) that hasn't been realised.

My wife loved his stuff, she's not much of a country music fan, but she loved the humour in his songs.
She saw him a few times in concert with her dad.
