The partnership apparently began last November when Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president for Internet software and services, was invited to join Ferrari's board of directors. Cue is said to be a collector of sports cars, including a Ferrari.
Very interesting.

I am not sure why one would need any additional entertainment besides the actual driving experience of that car.

When Apple hits its projected lowest price, might be a good time to buy. If Apple starts to develop Siri as the next step in GUI to AUI (graphical to audible) across major consumer products, and it's successful, it will undoubtably grow significantly.

I agree with z-man. In an f-car, I don't want nav and all sorts of crap. A stereo, yes, but really nothing else. That's a car you drive to enjoy driving - why would you want distractions? I would hope as a safety precaution Siri is automatically turned off under heavy acceleration, hard cornering and high speeds.

Now if this were offered in a lexus or similar, I'd be very interested.

I want an iPad in the dash. Every nav system I've ever used has been terrible from a UI standpoint. The iPad is so much better.

That being said, all it needs to do is run the stereo, nav and other basic on board computer functions. No need for any other entertainment aspects.

This. All you really need is a sleek docking solution for a full size ipad. The Ferrari specific bits can simply be an app. The days of built in system....why? Dumb. Take the device with you when you leave. No reason for a thief to try and get in if the entire entertainment/nav system is in your backpack.

The days of the raw driving F40 machine are long gone. Its 2013 after all. With all the supercar hybrids coming on to the scene, its a natural evolution for Apple to be part of a quality integration. Anyhow, not my thing and light years away of ever driving one. lol

The new Benz CLA will have iPhone integration and Siri voice control available, along with links to Pandora and social media. I've seen the car up close, but don't know much about the Siri/iPhone interface.

Like said above -- putting that stuff in luxo cars makes more sense than into a machine like s Ferrari. Even then, such techno gadgets can become a serious distraction - I don't know if I can't everyone around chatting with Siri and updating their facebook status whilst traveling at speeds of 65mph or above...
