Good for you, Luby ;)

Dueller 03-06-2013 12:44 PM

Lube, not to worry. A slice is never missed from a cut loaf.

read about a guy who dropped a higgins-bathtub particle once.

I had a guy ask me out and he took me to one of those pyramid scheme meetings at a hotel conference center... I started dating his best friend the next week and we dated for two years :)

I made the mistake of dating a genuine librarian back when I was in my mid 20s. She was the strangest chick I ever met. I picked her up at her apartment that was a dump. She wanted to give me the grand tour. Her living room had a gum wrapper chain all the way around the room. The kitchen had a strange smell. Then she showed me her bedroom. Upstairs was a very rhythmic thumping and a lot of moaning. It was instantly obvious the folks upstairs were enjoying the bedroom activities. She looked at me as said "I don't know what they are doing up there but they do it all the time!"

One would think someone that spends all their time at a library would learn a few things in life. She was dumber than a box of rocks. I feigned a bad headache so I could end things and take her back to her apartment and I actually burned the piece of paper with her phone number on it.

1st date with girl I hit a cat, freaking thing made it then doubled back, rattled right down the bottom of the floor (lowered old beetle) and launched off the rear tire. Dented the rear fender.

Looked over and date was crying. 1st and last date with her.

I had a blind date one time.

The Seeing Eye dog crapped all over the back seat.

I have never had a bad date, but I'm sure there are a few women that could contribute to this thread.

It was a blind date, set up by a lady co-worker, who said her friend was beautiful. Much to my surprise, she was right. Her girlfriend was indeed very beautiful. My co-worker said her friend was a fan of opera, so I sprung for pricy tickets to La Traviata. I knew nothing about opera, but it seemed like a good idea. What could go wrong?

I picked up the girl and we went out for dinner before the opera. She said she didn't get any sleep last night, and she struggled to stay awake during dinner. But she napped in the car on the way to the opera house, and everything seemed fine. About 10 minutes into the performance, during an instrumental portion, I heard the sound of loud snoring coming from the seat next to me. Because of the acoustics, I am sure everyone in the opera house heard the snoring. I turned and saw my beautiful date, her head fully back, snoring like a trouper. The people around us were staring at me, and I swear if looks could kill... I hurriedly nudged my date awake. I asked if she was okay, and she assured me she was okay. To make sure she didn't fall asleep again, I rubbed her thigh for a while. But unfortunately within 5 minutes I heard the sound of loud snoring once again. It seemed like the earth stood still. I remember no other sounds, only her snoring. A lady hissed at me, "Do something!" I had no choice. I half-carried my date out of the opera house. I took her home and helped her into her house, and laid her on the couch and took her shoes off, and then locked the door as I left. I never saw her again, and my co-worker never asked me about the date. I've never been back to the opera, and to this day, whenever I hear the word "opera," I smile and chuckle. :)

i had to drive her car to my hotel after the cops took her, and drop off the keys at the front desk. I had a 7AM flight, what else could I do?

Shortly after the end of my 22 year marriage I ended up on a dinner date with a younger lady (bar maid at the local pub). Things went great at dinner, on the drive home she had her pants off in my truck and jamming her feet all over the place...while I was trying to drive. finally got home thinking this is gonna be wild.....Remember...married for 22 years....she is biting me and slapping my face, asks me to "choke her out" I actually had to crawl away backwards on my living room floor and ask her to calm down a little bit!!! She freaked out called me a pussy and went to sleep IN MY BED..... I was a little freaked out and slept on my own couch...only to be awaken by an early morning BJ and the offer to come over and meet her KIDS!!!! OMG...what a mess!!!!
The guys all pissed themselves laughing the next night at hockey when I told them how my "big date went".

Gogar 03-06-2013 06:28 PM

Apparently you don't understand the subject of the thread. That was an awesome date.

Right up until the kids offer, agreed.

I've been lucky enough to not have any dates worthy of posting here yet. Better go knock on some wood.

My worst was in 1969. It was first date, going to the Chicago auto show. Driving down the expressway we were talking getting to know each other. Somehow the subject of religion came up and she announced that "Catholics are better than non-Catholics". I'm Greek Orthodox. I wanted to push her out of the car. I can't remember the rest of the date because I was so pissed off. I remember that moment like it was yesterday.

Why is it that some recent memories feel like 10 years and others are very fresh in your mind?

In retrospect it was hilarious.
I was a high school senior and took a freshman from the Baptist college across the street out on a date. This place is so strict the women aren't allowed to wear pants - skirts only, and being with a townie after dark was strictly against the rules. We had some beers and some fun and, not being a drinker, she got hammered. When it was time to drop her off at her dorm she was sound asleep. I had to try to sneak her up to her room, but she couldn't tell me which floor it was on, let alone what room it was and kept giggling as I struggled to find a place I could dump her and run. Her roommate found us and drug us into the room just as the RA came down the hall wondering what was going on. I was stuck in the room until 4 AM waiting for the roomate to make sure the halls were clear so I could get out. I had left the engine running and the lights on in my car and it had run out of gas and the battery was dead. It was a four mile walk home and I arrived just in time to meet my dad on his way out to work. I got my ass chewed for smelling like beer, losing my car, and coming home at breakfast time. She got off scott free.

I got roped into going to Niagra Falls with my buddy, his date, and her friend that I had never met. She was the hairiest little thing I have ever seen. She ended up being a nice person, and not to bad to talk to , so I was able to salvage the weekend.
So while my buddy is in the room next door making whoopie with the hot blond for 3 days, I got to play honeymooners, and spent 3 days sightseeing with sasquatch.

I'm enjoying reading these.. my dates were typically pretty good, usually its the sexual encounters that ended up being humiliating and awkward. Keep the stories coming!

I'm guessing it was NOT a REALLY BIG motorshow. Are you a Tory? SmileWavy (sorry, could not resist! That would bum me out as well.)

I have been on some strange dates but nothing really disasterously wrong with the date (or hopefully me).

I had started dating a VERY nice, very smart young lady (and she looked a very much like Holly Robinson) a few decades ago. We got along very, very well and everyone who saw us together made comments about how much we really seemed to like each other. Our first date was getting to know each other (park, walks, picnic) and we hit it off rather well.

Second date we went out to a nice restaurant. They were refusing to serve a mixed race couple. Same at second place we went but they did it with lousy service and a horribly cooked meal.

She never got over any of that and stopped talking to me a few weeks later. Her friends said she was just to upset at the public's reaction. Shame, we got along very well and had very similar likes and dislikes.

After a time I reluctantly agreed to go out with another lady who I had known for many, many years but only as a group date with many friends (she was FAR too young!). She and I have been together for 20+ years now.
