Nephew in Sacramento is CA State Wrestling champ at 170#!
So proud of the boy and his dad, my BIL. Great way for his son to end his HS years. I knew he was something special. As a toddler, he would do hanging sit ups off his dad's arm. He'd also do pull ups and push ups like a soldier. All the years of hard work and dedication has paid off. He won the CA State Champ at 170# last weekend in Bakersfield. There was a nice long write up about him in the Sac Bee yesterday. Also received a full athletic scholarship for North Carolina State, a big wrestling school. He is excited to go but we will all miss him. He's just a big, nice kid at heart but a monster on the mat.

Congrats to him, that's amazing. To be a state wrestling champ in any weight class in any state is huge, but CA. is a big state, to put it mildly. Wow.

Congrats! I just hope they keep wrestling in the Olympics - this is a good example why they have to! Invite him to your next Elk hunt for helping pack!

Congrats!
As a former HS wrestler in the very competitive 59kg class, I would say that he must be an extremely talented individual to win at that level. I hope the IOC reconsiders removing wrestling from the games. It seems like a very long time since I weighed in at 59 kgs ,
