That's one serious butt-joint! Sheesh. Didn't need to see that on a Sunday morning...

Geez, how about applying a little butt spackle before photography. Nice garage, though!

That sausage and stout beer sure looks good, that first image.......not so much !
I would love to have a garage that I could actually work in without moving my 944 out in the snow or rain. |

It's an interesting place. I was there today for a little more than an hour. Met one of the guys pictured and Walter, an 88 YO former shop and dealer(?) owner. Walter told me he is looking for his old '58 Carrera GS or GT, he didn't say. He's had some cars.
The "cave" is definitely a working shop, not some overly pampered display space. I didn't like the feel of the interlocking tiles (they crackle as you walk across) and the outdoor carpet has seen use. Like I said, they work there. It ain't no wash and shine palace. Beautiful collection of cars, Merc's and the 2 Porsches. There is a decidedly lack of machines for a shop this size with just one drill press and bench grinder. There is one hell of a monster compressor outside, so they don't have any problems in that department. Now I'm not the nosy type when in another man's shop so I don't pick up car covers or peek into anything else covered or behind doors. For all I know, the welders and fabrication equipment is stored out of view. There may be a clean room for engine assembly behind some double doors, but as I said, I don't open up shut doors. I kinda had the place to wander about in while waiting for Mark. His day got tangled up in problems and I missed him. They have a nice kick back area with plenty of ways to fix the brats. The place has a nice feel. |

I've got the interlocking tiles, the key is to underlay foam (similar to the foam you use to 'float' a wood floor) - then they have a great feel.
