Did Craigslist finally stop the scammers from getting our emails?
 

I was just looking at something on craigslist. Emailed the guy and got a reply from a jumbled craigslist email. Looks like they are filtering out our real email addresses finally!?

I tried it again and again I cannot see the other persons email address! So as long as I don't provide my email in the message body and go through the craigslist email then the other person won't be able to sell my address to scammers?

That's the way it's always been. Once you email back, you're cooked. Always ask for a phone no. in the reply or move on.

No a reply back would always show email addresses. Right now when you reply back the email you see is still a jumbled craigslist one. All replies have been jumbled craigslist ones for me.

OK! This is what they did! I don't use craigslist much but the few times I do suddenly I seem to get a lot of spam afterward...see link:

Thanks for the update. I didn't understand your first post, obviously. But, I think eventually the emails should become available. Otherwise all communication is going through them like eBay. I don't like that control.

Youre right about the control being weird but in this day and age its probably needed. Craigslist was such a mess and now the vast majority of scammer emails become useless. All the "do you still have it" emails to harvest our emails will be gone!
