None of it surprises me at all. Why wouldn't they believe it?

snow in coffee cups - you wonder if they don't realize that even poor people drink lattes

red-beard 03-12-2013 08:26 PM

They do have a point. We have a homeless population problem. And most of those are mentally incompetent. Most other countries would put these people in hospitals...

It is funny that they claim that we designed a city to look "just like" a European city.

Some of those shots looked like DC. They probably had to edit out the panhandlers with cell phones.

Jim Richards 03-13-2013 02:07 AM

All our panhandlers are commuters. They ride the buses into downtown and set up shop at their individual spots. And as RL stated, they often times have cell phones. One guy had a discreet location where he would hide his crutches when he went home every night. He'd show up the next day and pretend to be injured/homeless, hoping for a more sympathetic and generous response.

Not true today but may well be for future generations!

I kept looking for street signs or advertising that would indicate this was really in the US. I don't think there is an expanse of wall in the US that isn't covered with ads, and I didn't see any here.

Pretty clever stuff for their home consumption. It makes living in America seem just as bad, if not worse, than living in N Korea. So it tells the home crowd to shup up, already, or eat snow like the Amelicans. I love that our people are still capable to schedule the eating of the birds in one scene to "next Tuesday".

ckissick 03-13-2013 06:49 AM

Did they really say those people were sitting with their "dead friends" in the blue bags? I had to rewind it to make sure. The line about "the cold, lonely, and homosexual" was classic Monty Python. Hmm, I think John Cleese must have written the script.

Control the media, shape minds, control the population. A cautionary tale if there ever was one.

trekkor 03-13-2013 07:44 AM

I'm drinking snow right now...

I just had my bird....and I'm waiting for the North Korean trucks to arrive so I can get some cake.

LWJ 03-13-2013 07:56 AM

Go buy some guns and shoot someone. Especially children.

That is funny stuff.

Birds and snow are yummy

apriliaguy 03-13-2013 10:16 AM

I'm pretty pissed. My snow was brown and i missed the cake truck. Hmmm no birds around either.

dafischer 03-13-2013 10:21 AM

At least your snow wasn't yellow, but sorry to hear about the cake truck.

Icemaster 03-13-2013 10:23 AM

"In other parts of America, often disguised as foreign countries in Europe...."

Holy fart bubbles, batman.

RWebb 03-13-2013 11:09 AM

what's funny is that nearly everything in it is true - the disinformation is quantitative

people do eat birds in the US - chicken mostly, tho I prefer pheasant or quail... or duck confit

there are homeless; and people do live in tents (say during Katrina, or while backpacking)

I hope they will include Rodman in their next video
