Last two times I was pulled over here for "lighting" issues I got warnings.

But I do keep all my documentation in order.

My landscape trailer continually has it's lights damaged during the course of doing my landscaping work and I have to continually address those repairs - not always at the top of my priority list. And my truck has a cracked tail light lens with a piece of red tape over it. Sometimes the tape comes off and white light comes out at night.

The thing that gets me though is all the ASS HATS who drive like DOUCHES and NEVER get pulled over.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

I'm going to take a pic of my tag lights later.......he had absolutely zero reason to pull me over.....
Sure it's not as bright as a brand new car.....but clearly is visable.....

And apparently yes I needed have a new license issued with the current address......even though my registration (a misdemeanor if that's not current), and my license were both correct in the computers......
But do I have a leg to stand on?
When I post pics of the tag lights it'll show........blatantly singled out I was.......I received a written warming for the tag lights.....I have 30 days to handle it.

The reason this chaps my ass is for many many years I always got pulled over for speeding....many times, lost Liscence a couple times......
So pre-1997 was hell.......then I came to grips....and never got pulled over for what 12 years.....
Received a ticket on the way home from Miami a couple years ago.....but I was speeding so........
Anyway........if I'm going to get pulled over it better be for something worthwhile and real......I have LOTS of experience with traffic stops, and this is the first time there was not just cause to pull me over.......

Why do you think they call them pigs??

(yes, I know they're not all bad, but,,,)

Don't get me wrong, as I said I have a bunch of friends who are cops......
I think as was mentioned he was slightly apprehensive so in sure it boils down to his supervisors as to not being able to give a break...
It's just nit picking to generate revenue in this case....

Do these constitute a reason to pull over?

Both lights are lit.

There existed no reason to be initially pulled over....
Especially if cop has not been thoroughly trained in a certified process with that automotive model's equipment specifications (i.e. one light or two required for illumination by federal transportation statutes and standards).

Everything found afterwards would constitute "fruit of the poisonous tree" (i.e. unrelated to the initial action), unless other justification is specified in writing on ticket.

(disclaimer: not a layer)

Speeding is a bull***** reason to get pulled over, IMO.

With apologies to all good, law-abiding Floridians, he probably thought you were a drug dealer and profiled you. Pulled you over for a BS reason just to check you out, then when he found nothing he defaulted to the driver's license. After all, you did screw up there, but he was happy you did. Pissed you weren't a drug courier but satisfied he could cite you for something.

bell- Sometimes it just isn't fair, been there, done that. Could write volumes on the subject. Sometimes you have to join the frat. Used to ride motorcycles with all sorts of LEO, locals, state (various state's).... and oh my, played safe but always waaaaay beyond any posted limits. Another was having a car with a nice little decal strategically placed on the drivers side rear window. That little decal had an outline of the state of XX for Legislative Investigator. I kid you not.
