Mercedes-Benz W196 May Hit $40-50 Million at Auction
A lofty title, no doubt, but the whisper estimate on the Mercedes-Benz W196 'Silver Arrow' is basically two times the going price for a Ferrari 250 GTO. In other words, the $40-50 million figure may be too low...ex-Juan Manuel Fangio and twice a Grand Prix winner, some are calling this MB the "Holy Grail" for car collectors.

Why do they call this car collecting? It's just investment. And not a smart one at that.

So is the car in private hands today or is a museum offering it for sale ? If in private hands it would be an interesting story to hear how it wound up where it is today.

Quite spectacular. Both the car and est. sale. Not only vehicles but makes me dizzy when I hear of a single piece of artwork selling in the million's.
Oh but I do I get to drive one... in my sim -rfactor

closest I can ever get, I have two models of that car, made in Italy, had them for more than ten years and never put together. I bought them with the intent but I like them now just like they are. Diecast.
