When I was a young dope smoking moron, we used to counter the "weed leads to harder drugs" argument with the fact that over 99% of heroin addicts started out on milk. :)

When I was a young college student, pharmacognosy (drugs of natural origin) was a required course for my major. The professor for the first semester was an older gentleman with a predilection for Tangueray gin, and he cautioned us that it was for internal use only. The professor for the second semester was a younger gentleman who liked to study drug-induced lung diseases *cough cough* at home. Both of these professors hosted parties that were very popular with all of the students. Those were the days! Both gents are retired now, with plenty of leisure time for their studies. :)
