If you find them in your house, don't try to smash it. The females carry the babies on their back and you will have a bunch of little scorpions running in every direction. When I find them on the wall in my house,I take a clear plastic cup and put it over the scorpion and hold the cup against the wall. Scorpion falls in the cup. I then turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink and drop it in and let it sit in the hot water for a minute to make sure it's dead.
Laneco, Is that the 24 hours in the Old Pueblo race that you are talking about? I live in Tucson and go watch it but have never participated. |
When I was a kid and we'd see one on the carpet, we'd put a glass over it, scoop it up and give him 10 sec. in the microwave.

This is how I get them these days. Works like a charm. In fact, I think it's time to go hunting. Hold my beer and watch this.

Went scorpion hunting tonight and all I found was this guy hanging out on my driveway

Found this guy on the tile as I was coming down the stairs! Tiny little bastard, but he got dead just the same!

The only time I caught a live one in this house, it was just chilling on the carpet while I was putting my shoes on. I grabbed a glue trap out of the corner and let him walk onto it. I sort of liked seeing him there for the next year.

I put a glue trap in the garage, and by the back door. No scorpions in either? Have caught tons of little bugs, and there are remnants of roaches in both... Never find roaches in the house, but we see them running around outside some, and in the garage occasionally.

Go check your yards guys! I just took the propane torch out and cooked 10 of them! Warm weather has them out early this year.
