Got a new (to me) gear hauler

Well I guess old age is really getting here. First I sold the race car a couple years ago, then about 6 weeks ago I sold the F350 dually that had my really kick-ass stereo flat screen. Then two week ends ago I finally sold the toy hauler to a guy in Parker AZ so he can tool around the country hauling his Fat Bob. So now I needed a car/SUV/truck/something to haul my black powder gear to the range and my range box is pretty big (one of Lowe's Fat Max things) and cleaning rods, x-sticks and some 5 foot long muzzle loaders! So I looked at the "cool" cars such as the toaster and the rodent mobile and little trucks and such. I took the longest M/L to check for room and none of those had enough, but the PT Cruiser and the Chevy HHR sure did. I looked around and found a 2007 HHR with every option available that a Marine wanted to sell as his wife wants a Honda and it was under KBB by about $2500 so I jumped on it.

The only issue was Arkansas title but it is a 50 state car and passed a smog test so I got it registered here using the disabled plates from the dually and used a license company just up the street that had the prettiest Mexican girls working there and they charged way less than I thought. I took it to the range yesterday and it was great having lots of room again! So far I am averaging 29 MPG which is way better than the wife's Caddy!

I'm surprised that you got such a smokin' deal. Webb's thread talks about low resale cars. The HHR is not one of them.

A little OT, but I think Detroit should have kept up the trend of making vanity cars the likes of the PT, the Prowler, and the SSR. Look at how the new 'Stang sells.

They ought to bring back the Corvair.

sorry John, but the HHR is THE most uncomfortable car/vehicle I've ever driven/ rode in.
A major rental agency gave me one in Baltimore two years ago and anything over 2 miles was a chore.
