Rest in peace. You'll be missed.
I grew up watching Gene and Roger review all the movies that I loved. |

Siskel and Ebert is an American Institution.
I remember watching on Saturday so many of their installments. What fantastic memories for us movie nuts! Thank you Roger - may you rest in peace, sir.

Cancer made it hard on him, His wife stood by his side. I tip my hat to both of them.

There are many in the industry who owe their careers to him. For example, no one probably would have heard of Hoop Dreams if not for Siskel and Ebert. While we love to hate Hollywood, the reality is that film traces the fabric of our lives. There are so many stories to be told, having someone with an eye, an opinion, and who gave a damn, find these stories and give the thumbs up or down, helped a generation discover and share a wide variety of experiences.
god speed Roger - I hope you and Gene have many arguments to come. |

“We were getting ready to go home today for hospice care, when he looked at us, smiled, and passed away,” said his wife, Chaz Ebert. “No struggle, no pain, just a quiet, dignified transition.”
We should all be so fortunate. |

I encourage you to read this......
Couple years ago he wrote this about facing death square in the eye....pretty remarkable perspective and a learning moment for sure....

Life imitating art? You betcha.

RIP Mr. Ebert
I remember when Siskel & Ebert started on PBS. They were pioneers and IMO no one ever did it as well as they did.
