I just got my second lens implant yesterday, I have worn glasses since high school and always took them off to read. NOW, with the new lenses I bought reading glasses today, went to a place called Dollar Tree and got two pair for two dollars. Sunday I could read without them, now I can't. I can still use the computer, everything about an arms length is ok, but reading something like a car magazine or newspaper, can't do it.
But I can drive without glasses. Spent a lot of money last year on frames and glasses that are now worthless. Cheap sunglasses and reading glasses.

Currently wearing bifocals, and actually need them.

I have always had perfect vision. Just as of the last 6 months, I have started to notice having to squint to see smaller things, . I'm 43, but have pounded my body into submission 7 days a week, for the last 20 years. It is now starting to talk back. The next few years are not going to be pretty .

47 and I've noticed the eyes change in the past year. Perfect vision my whole life.

Had cataract surgery in my 50's, now have a reading eye and a distance eye after 40 years of corrective lenses.

I must have 10 pair of reading glasses scattered around the house:)

Getting old sucks beyond some vision difficulties. Try having your joints not work. At least my joint works.

After 10+ years of working in front of 3 to 4 computer monitors, I now have computer glasses.
I used to have perfect vision.

It does absolutely no good to complain about getting old....

And when you hit the magnificent 40's in age, the vision progression usually goes:
20/20
low power 1/2 frame reading glasses (you'll need many pairs of these scattered around)
increasing power 1/2 frame reading glasses
bi-focals
increasing power bi-focals
Full frame reading glasses when at the computer (bi-focals and 1/2 frame glasses suck for computer use) and bi-focals for everything else.
cataract surgery to replace lens
your hearing starts to fail....
and it is downhill from there..

Getting old may suck, but it beats the heck out of the alternative.

Said by the grey haired, bifocal wearing fellow who tends to forget...
What was I saying?

Best

Realized at 38 I needed reading glasses for electronic circuit work.

yel911 04-10-2013 05:56 AM

My kids asked me why all the old people have the cool cars??? I said, because we can afford them now!!!

Miguel Antonett 04-10-2013 06:13 AM
