My friends interesting collection

I have a friend who likes to collect odd ball stuff. Always fun to visit him. At one time or another he's had: A very nice BMW Upsetta (Erkyl Car) Two Vincent Rapides, Two square four Royal Enfields (he's always looking for square pistons)
a racing bathtub, for bath tub racing no less, lots of Cuckoo clocks, goes with the territory, also likes to collect Simca V8 engines. Pictured. He installed one in his Nash Metropolitan. Fastest Nash Met in town.

And has two Hop Rods. TWO!!

Seems to me Road and Trac did a Hop Rod road test years ago and found among other things, infinite head room and a good number of hops per gallon.

Like most of these gyro gearloose types they are a lot of fun to hang out with. Never a dull moment.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365681109.jpg

Cashflyer would love to trade neighbors with you...

Yeah, Steve Urkel from the Family Matters show, he had a BMW Isetta (Upsetta)

The Hop Rods were gas powered pogo sticks, so hops per gallon was important to know, as you wouldn't want to run out of fuel.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365695492.jpg

I'll try to find a pic of the Hop Rods.,

Don't try one of these, late at night, after the bars close, on the street , front of your house. The cops were amused and even brought Pizza. (Moncton, NB some time ago). Don't ask how I know.

I've never even heard of a hop-rod. It is clear I led a deprived childhood!

Thanks Chris, I enjoyed watching the Hop Rod video, brings back some weid
