RIP Jonathan Winters

Jonathan Winters passed away last night at age 87. One of comedy's greatest, and the world will be less funny without him.

Godspeed, Jonathan.

^^^ this. Very few that are worth of that term but he was one of them. His ability to riff and improv was mindboggling. God speed.

I always liked his characters, the big kid Chester Honeyhugger and Maude Frickert. I used to work at Leo Carrillo and Sycamore Cove beaches after I graduated high school. Always went to lunch at Neptune's Net and Jonathan was a frequent customer. He was very nice, very funny, but you could sense a sadness about him. I'm proud to say I was entertained by him during a few lunches, RIP Jonathan and thanks for the laughs.

He had some good movies, "The Loved Ones" was cool.

One of my parent's friends went to grade school with Jonathan Winters. She said just imagine Jonathan Winters as a little boy........

Yep, he was even wilder.

He was able to get the teachers and the principal laughing. The ultimate goal of any class clown is to make the teacher laugh.

RIP Jonathan Winters

If you haven't seen "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" you should. Some great actors/actresses.

Absolutely one of the great movies. And now one less of it's stars. RIP Mr. Winters.

I knew him for many years. He used to hang out at a gas station in Montecito (the rich section of Santa Barbara) and pump gas.....do stand up. He also did a ten minute schtick in front of my ex and kids at a restaurant outdoor veranda.

He was hilarious but a bit off......he would go into "rest facilities" for realignment on a regular basis. I'll miss the old guy...

I was so lucky as an eleven year old kid to actually see part of the movie being filmed in downtown Long Beach. I got to meet Sid Caesar, Peter Falk, Edie Adams and Jonathan. Didn't really realize just how cool that would turn out to be.......

Absolutely.

My Dad took my brother and I to see it when it first came out. My Dad loved Winters and had some of his records - along with other notable comedians like Bob Newhart and Bill Cosby.
