Spanky (my cat) has passed.
My wife called over to the shop about an hour ago crying. I walked over to the house and held Spanky through his last spasms as he slipped away.
We got him as a rescued kitten in 2000. He's been with us through 3 moves. Over the last two weeks, his health has been in decline. The vet ran a lot of tests, prescribed meds, but in the end I think it was just "his time". Yesterday and today have been the hardest on him, and on us. I think he was in some pain, and he was extremely weak. We took him to the yard yesterday and let him enjoy the sunshine one last time. Last night he slept on the bed with us. Now he can rest. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365970836.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365970967.jpg Spanky, on my lap. Cats are cool little creatures.
I had two of them and I miss their antics. Sorry to hear that you lost a little buddy. |
Sorry for your loss, Cash.
He had a great run. Been there - it hurts. He had a great Dad and knew he was loved. R.I.P. "Spanks".... |
Sorry for the loss of your furry little buddy.

Sorry to hear. R.I.P Spanky

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... So sorry for your loss. |
Sorry for your loss, bud. These are tough times. I'm glad to see you've got lots of buddies to help get you through.

I'm sorry for your loss Cash. It is obvious from the picture you posted that you love your kittys. God speed Spanky. Spanky looks like my Cheddar cat.

Sorry for your loss. It's never easy.

Hooah! to Spanky

Sad news. Rest in Peace, Spanky, and condolences to you Cashflyer.

Except while in the military, I have had cats all my life.
Though most cats are aloof and independent, Spanky was one of those who always wanted to be with his person. My wife says that he would walk around the house looking for me and mewing incessantly when I would be away on business trips. He would miss me. And I will miss him. Thanks for the sentiments, everyone. |
My sympathies to you...

I'm sorry for your loss. We've lost all three of our long-term cats over the last two years (two of them were 18+ years old). I swear I still hear the big black one's collar around the house...
|
Very sorry to hear. I've lost two (Charlie and Bonnie) and have three today. They're family - nothing less. It's still hard to think about losing them. Great companions who love unconditionally. In time it gets bearable but it'll always hurt to think about them not being around to share your life with. Their pictures and videos still make me smile though - I figure the best tribute I can pay them and the best way I can say "thanks" for them being such good companions to me is to never forget them.
