Guitar price check, Yamaha FG 420 12 string

Back when buffalo roamed the plains I had a 12 string acoustic guitar and loved it.

Car got broken into and away into the wind went.

Now I'm having a craving to get back into acoustic 12 (already have a six string)

A few FR 420 pop up on craigslist from $100-$300

One guys is interested in trading for a six... I have a Takmine six in the closet that hasn't been touched for ten years.

Yes, of course first I need to get the model number off the Takmine and do a websearch to get an estimate on it's worth.

but what would you guitar guys and gals value a FG 420 with a hardshell case that looks to be a 6-8 condition in the pictures (also of course need to see and played in person before making any deal).

Thanks in advance!

A buddy of mine picked one up in a pawn shop a few months ago. $200.00 but no case, very clean condition. (Canadian $$, = 0.97 today)

I think they don't sell as easy as a six sting in a pawn shop.

Hope that helps.

$100-$200 depending on condition. Low end will show signs of wear to guitar, maybe no case, needing strings. High end will be pretty minty with a hard shell case in nice shape.

Estimates are based on active and closed ebay auctions plus active and removed Craigslists posts nationwide. Big city may mean higher demand on Craigslist due to more people looking so sellers can ask and get a bit more.

The Yamaha 12 has a nice hard case and the guy swears it is perfect straight (neck), no cracks, and flat top. Only minor playing scratches. Craigslist ad with three pictures so no way to tell condition for sure until I lay hands on it, the guy is about 45 minutes away.

I have a Takamine F360, hard case, same only minor playing scratches.

We are talking trade.

Local pawn shop has a Takamine 12 tagged for $250... I'm thinking of asking if he would trade for my Takamine.

Any ideas/opinions?
