Wow
|
Splitting lanes would have been better!
|
WOW that was too close, did the car being hit roll forward and hit one of the bikers ahead? Whew!
|
Wow, don't buy a lottery ticket, you just used your allotment of luck for the year.

However many lives both people on those bikes have, they just used up one. He was leaviing plenty of room between him & the car in front as should be. This also shows the prudence of doing whatever you can to reduce the chances of becoming a statistic. If he hadn't pulled well to the right out of the main stream of traffic, he'd have been a gonner.
|
What did I miss? Why were those bikes stopped and then why did the car that got rear ended stop in the road with nothing in front of him?

two lead bikes pull over to wait for slowpoke with the camera. car sees them stop and stops too in confusion. 5 seconds later pickup slams into the rear. |
Yikes. Crazy stuff.
Looks like NC... getting on up towards the Smokies. |
Was the truck driver texting?

Analytically speaking......the driver who was rear ended had no business stopping in the middle of the road. I didn't say the accident was his fault. The guy in the truck was at fault. But what the hell was that car doing stopped in the road? I'll answer.....he was AFRAID to drive past the 2 cyclists who had stopped to the right - who were probably waiting for their buddy (the one filming) to catch up. It all boils down to TRAFFIC FLOW....."Keep them doggies movin'....Rawhiiiiide!" |
What about the pick-up coming the other way that forced the car ahead onto the shoulder?
What was up with that? And why did the SUV coming the other way pull onto the shoulder? When the camera pans back the road is clear. why did everyone stop? I don't get it. |
It was a funeral procession (oncoming traffic). Pretty common for people in rural areas to pull over and stop until the procession goes by.
(audio has someone yelling about a funeral procession - so this is my SWAG). angela |
well at least it wasn't a Turbopalooza gathering !!!
|
To me it looks like the two bikes at front prob. pulled over because of the near miss a minute earlier. It spooked the guy in Nissan who didnt know what they were doing and was prob. also spooked from the earlier near miss. Hopefully nobody was hurt too badly.
|
I put 50% of the blame on the clown in the blue Nissan who stopped for no reason. Funeral procession or not. He/she could have created another funeral. Guarantee there's serious whiplash, if not rebound injury in that car.

That hurts to watch. :(
I was stopped behind a pick up that was waiting to make a left turn, about 5 seconds later a short screech of tires, and crash of metal, and another pick up truck did this to my poor car. :( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1366824991.jpg Its amazing how some people never see brake lights or slow down for stopped traffic. :( When pickups with bright lights follow right behind me on country roads at night, I will slowly come to a stop in passing zone and wave them past. I often get asked "you wanna fight?". No, I just don't want you behind me, I can see the whole shadow of my car out lined in your lights. They don't get it. They also, judging from how I have to come almost completely off the brake to get to a full stop without being hit, would slam right into me in an emergency. |
