Picked up a second Ducati

I had seriously considered going to a BMW and the crew on the PP BMW bike board was very helpful but in the end I went back to Ducati.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367270808.jpg

Nice bike. I had an ST2 that made a glorious noise but in the end it was too tight for my knees and back. I'm strictly a sit up and beg kinda guy on a bike. I did like my Multistrada while I had it...

Lovely! It's on my wish list.

Nice-wanted one for a while, not sure I'm ready to get back on a bike after my scare, but A ST4s is on my short list. Like the stock lights better though...

trader220 04-29-2013 03:47 PM

The stock headlight is a joke. I also have a 99 ST4. I replaced the stock light with the same one from Ducati Designs because the stock light is actually dangerous at any speed over 35mph you out ride your lighting. When I first picked up the 99 two years ago I was shocked at how useless the lighting was, and I commute on the bike often after dark.

There are more expensive ways to keep the original housing and lens and improve the lighting but the DD set up is standard issue for anyone who uses their ST series at night.

I am loving the extra everything in this bike.

Nice ! Looks tastefully modified, did it come with two sets of front brake rotors?

trader220 04-29-2013 04:19 PM

Good eye. No, the Galfer's in the first two pics are the current set up.

Good to know. The sergeant seat is a major upgrade, obviously. And the Ohlins have to feel good.

Well, at least you'll have a distraction during playoff season. Have two kids I sorta know playing for the Hawks, so I still have a rooting interest.

If its not rude to ask, what does a nicely appointed 4s go for? Its between that and another K1200rs for me, but the K1200 is really heavy and tippy at pusharound in the driveway speeds for me (5'5 135), so I'd welcome the duc alternative, even if the durability is different, as I'm not doing ironbutt anytime soon.

Nice, and it looks much better without picnic baskets on the sides.

I agree but i use it to commute and I am planning a trip to Maine this summer so I need them.

At 48 years old with 40 seasons of hockey on my knees and back I am not a knee dragger anymore.

Nice bike.

I have a ST2, always curious what the real world difference between the two is. Nice bikes, love the sound.

Those are great bikes. Two of my buddies have them. He bought his brand new and has about 45K on it. Still runs like a champ.
