As mentioned above, the toast in your pic is spread too thickly. You only need a translucent layer.
I love marmite (UK version), but for a real meal go for Bovril. Marmite is yeast extract, but bovril is beef extract. Fantastic on toast. |
This Marmite takes me back to the 1950's. Yes it is best on toast with a thin layer.
Have not seen it for eons. I remember the taste but somehow don't crave it. Bovril less appealing.... |
Love toasted sourdough with butter, Marmite and cheddar.

Last night I had some more, this time a little on a piece of sharp cheddar and maybe a pretzel. Very yummy. The cheese seems to mellow the flavor a bit. The taste is actually growing on me. Guess I'm a bit weird. ;)

Well at least they took "My First Vegemite" off the market. Think of the kids!

Durian is another thing that I'm very curious to try

A girl named Anne made it for me in London one morning. I took one bite and thought I was going to puke. She was disappointed I didn't like it, but I thought she was trying to poison me. Looked like apple butter, but tasted like a beef bullion cube.
I'd rather have a Fisherman's Friend. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/pukeface.gif http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367966221.jpg |
