Killer Whales strafe boat.
Terrifying moment a pod of TWENTY killer whales follows boat of couple on wedding anniversary trip
A Florida couple celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary on a trip to Mexico were given an unforgettable memory when a pod of 20 killer whales followed the wake of their boat for an hour. Rich and Laura Howard from Lutz, were diving off the coast of La Paz when their dive instructor signalled for them to return to their boat. Obeying his instructions, the keen ocean photographer and his wife discovered to their disbelief that they were fast being approached by a group of 4-5ft dorsal fins. Mrs Howard filmed the incredible sighting on her Flip Cam. ![]() couldn't embed the video.but worth seeing. We had that happen once in SE Alaska, they would charge the boat, Boston Whaler, and dive under it, they were having fun, we thought it was scary. They never touched the boat.

"Terrifying moment"??? It seemed to me in the interview that they thought it was cool. Here's what she said:

Terrifying?
By the sounds of the video clip, she was cheering the whales, "Swim, Baby! Swim!" Oh yeah, they're Killer Whales. They have to be terrifying. But mam, oh man, can they swim! Best Les

And according to the title of the thread, they "stafed" the boat.

When I lived in Ketchikan, we had these guys all over. Dall porpoise too. It was always awesome.

My parents neighbors had a large sailboat.
Killer whales rammed it, sank it, the wife survived, the husband didn't.

I was working in Hobart Bay and some others up there, whales, killer whales, lots of wild life, we were surveying the place for the tribes who then sold the lumber, they started cutting the second we marked boundries.

As much as I admire the Orca it be a lie saying that I would be completely at ease in that situation. Apex ocean predator not known for aggression toward humans yes...but lots of power and teeth...I would prefer a bigger boat.

I read about an incident like this not long ago. I wouldn't be thrilled to be in that situation.

Transients will eat mammals, seals, etc, residents only eat fish.
