HVAC Repair guys...blue leaking down the low side pipe?
I'm familiar with HVAC units, just not diagnosing repairs on them.
I have a split system with the furnace in my attic and towards the end of the summer season last year I noticed some discoloring on my ceiling in my room. I went to check out the unit and the was some dripping off the low side copper pipe coming from inside the unit, running down the outside of the pipe then dripping onto the insulation. Whatever the liquid is, it is blueish green in color and I'm not sure what it is. Any idea what it is? I'll probably have someone come out and fix it since its getting hot now but thought I'd like to know what I'm dealing with before that happens.

blue/green is copper ''RUST'' in water
likely cause is water leaking from a blocked drain a/c produces water from air as the air is chilled pour bleach in the drains to clear them of live slime about every 6 months |

Suction line should be well insulated. Check to see if the insulation/armaflex is damaged and if it is sealed well to the suction line. You would be surprised at how much water can pour off an uninsulated suction line.
As mentioned above check your condensate drain from the evaporator pan.

Ah...didn't know that about the copper "rust"...sounds like that is exactly it.
My suction line is well insulated, its the other line that is having the leaking. I get condensate every time I run the AC and the pan is dry as a bone but I'll clear out the lines today anyway. Thanks guys
