Visited my first house last night.

Wholy cow, I think they are making a parking lot. I am standing at the top of a huge concrete retention wall that is caving in. Several million dollar project for the city to fix it. I had inside information of this when I bought the house, and against the advice of some friends,and my dad, it was a smart buy.
I bought this house dirt cheap, Traci and I lived in it for 3 years, then moved to the country, and used it as a rental house .I learned all my landlording lessons on this one. Then the city took it from me eminent domain, and I made about 10 k on it.
There is a bunch of development going on in the area, The huge clearing on the other side of the paved road at the very bottom of the screen , is supposed to be a huge indoor sports complex. The big pit at the bottom, near the excavator, is where my house used to sit, and is rumored to be a parking area for the complex.
It was in the city, but was in the woods. I rode mountain bikes, built fires , shot guns, and rode my atc 250 r there daily. Plus , we lived for less than what half of renting a cheap efficiency apartment would have cost us.
Where I am standing taking this photo is right across the street from two of our rentals ( the extorting tenant one). I am hoping all the development will help make the area a little more desireable , and maybe we can put some better tenants in this place.
