Anyone in New Orleans?

I'll be there for one of my TV pilots from next Thursday night through the following Tuesday, with the weekend off if anyone wants to get together for drinks or dinner. Johnco, if you're around, I don't mind driving a rental car down to your neck of the woods.

Joe Ricard 05-31-2013 08:24 AM

Must make a trip to NOLA Motorsports park. 15 minutes from down town. Jump in an arrive and drive kart for a hoot of a good time.

red-beard 05-31-2013 08:47 AM

Ask Jim (Dueller) to join you there...

johnco 05-31-2013 10:02 AM

tell me what day and I'll boil you a sack of crawfish, maybe some shrimp or even fry some catfish if you like

johnco 05-31-2013 10:05 AM

I could even borrow my friend's Cobra, 58 Corvette or one of his other cars to take a little ride. it would be more fun in the rat rod though

John:
Now you have gone and done it. Every Pelican within 100 miles will be at your house. I mean crawfish, come on. Whats your address. I'll bring beer and wine. LOL

Hugh R 05-31-2013 12:51 PM

John, Saturday or Sunday, whichever is good for you. PM me your address and phone #, and I'll PM you my cell phone #.

johnco 05-31-2013 05:55 PM

had so much crawfish this season I'm almost tired of them. Shadowjack1..... you're more than welcome if you feel like making the drive. about 120-130 miles one way. not much going on next weekend so either day is good for me. Hugh, I'll check around if anyone is selling large shrimp at a good price if you want to bring some home. so it's crawfish, potatoes, onions, garlic, mushrooms, corn, sausage and enough seasoning to make your eyes water and nose run for the Man from Disney. might even have a nice cigar and a jar or 2 for you also.

MRM 05-31-2013 06:41 PM

My bucket list just grew by one entry - to join you guys in a dinner like that. I'd even bring the cigars and brandy.

Shuie 06-01-2013 05:59 AM

I picked the wrong week to leave town.

daepp 06-01-2013 09:15 AM

Try out port of call while you are in NOLA. Good food and drinks.

Always fun over there. Here are some sights from NOLA Motorsports Park today (not the kart track).

Got here, sat on the Tarmac for an hour due to lightning. Seeing Johnco on Saturday afternoon. So humid I had fog coming out of the A/C vents in the rental. 6:45AM tech scout. Ugh.

That is so you know it's working

Drove to Morgan City and saw Johnco, his daughter, her boyfriend and some other friends of Johnco. Ate a ton of crab and crawfish. Never had that kind of crab before, and have never had crawfish at all. Just fantastic. Wonderful people and hospitality.

That was about half the crawfish they boiled.

Johnco sent me back to NOLA with a Mason Jar full of Liquid and a warning not to smoke or have an open flame when I taste it, Safety First!

johnco 06-08-2013 04:28 PM

we had more than that left over after 6 people eating all they could. well, 5 people eating as much as they wanted and 1 eating what he could. the way Hugh peels crawfish, if that's all he could find to eat... he'd starve LOL. never saw anyone use a knife to peel a crawfish tail.. so.. as I did when my daughter was a small child.. peel one for me, 3 for Hugh. just teasing Hugh.. all good fun. one pic of the ex-crawfish virgin and one for the douchbag parking thread. haha
