Pick up owners... anyone using a cab cooler cover?
Or a cab only cover?
OH, and this is why I asked: ![]() The seller turned down my offer of $12.7 which is stone dealer realistic retail for a near perfect '06. The market is tough. Or this guy is afraid of post partum separation. |

G'day!

Not using one but looks like a good idea. My windows are tinted and I keep them cracked open a bit when parked, if not rolled down all the way depending on circumstances.
BTW, I paid $12K for my '02 Silverado 1500 full box extended cab 2wd 4.8 back in '06. It had approx. 90k miles and now has approx. 160k miles and it doing great. It's white in color too. ![]()

What are you trying to achieve? Reduce Heat? Dirt? Dust? Looks (theft)?
For heat this is overkill IMHO. Just buy some nice windshield shades and crack the windows. I would NOT tint the side windows, even remove existing tint. IMHO it is a ticket or even liability case waiting to happen here in CA. G |

Shut up, Gordy. Yes, true dat. I wasn't real disappointed when the seller of that black truck turned me down. The guy wanted 14K and neither KBB or Edmunds will support that number. I thought going as far as I did was pretty damn good. |

First time I've seen those things.
When it's really hot or I'm going to the river or arid-zona I'll use one of those folding reflective winshield covers, they seem to work OK. Not great, just ok |

Milt - front side windows and the windshield are off limits for tint in CA. You will only get factory tint in the rear, as you have noticed.
Just buy a white truck and be done with it. That cover has ANAL written on it, even if you can't read it. You really want to dance around your old truck every time you park it to put a condom on it? Reminds me of the guys showing up in a 10 year old beater to drivers ed and taping it up with blue painters tape. ![]() G |

Good Lord, dude, you can read anything into a post that just comes to mind. No where did I day I was going to use this during the day while out and about.
And for the last time, I don't give a rat fook about what anyone thinks. Do you happen to remember who was driving around in a flat black primered 911 in 2005? Not matt black, black primer. |

entertaining the idea
|
Those covers look good for long term parking. They seem impractical for a daily driver as they seem tedious and would eventually just be left off the truck.
I guess it depends on your intended use of the truck. |

You are the one asking what we think about the cover and not telling us what you want it for. I sure thought it was about heat. Go ahead and have your grumpy conversation with yourself. Sometimes I really wonder why you post here, if all you do is get pissed off.

Alright, I see why it might be assumed that a cool cover is an interior protector for day use. And at home where my truck might not be driven for 3 days at a time, it would stay on over night so that the windows stay clean.
Seems to me that the second best reason to have one other than ease of tossing it on would be being able to wash the thing in the home machine. But, me pissed off? Well, if you are inferring that if I get one of these shorty covers that I'm ANAL (your word with caps), I guess you forgot a chapter or 2 from "How to win Friends..." What comes around, goes back atcha G. It's how I roll. |

I think the question you are really asking is "would either of these look cool on an Avalanche?"
Seriously though... any way you can keep the interior temps lower so a vehicle isn't so hot when you get in is a very good thing in my book. I just use one of those windshield accordion thingies and that's enough for me. Keeps the sun off the steering wheel. A/C cools everything off pretty quick after I get rolling. And yes, it is a good idea to roll the windows down for a block or so to let out some of the superheated air. I forget where I heard that (recently), but had heard that it wasn't a good idea for years.

If I could get a bikini top that covered the hood, top, front and side glass, that would be perfect for light weight, easy to store and easy to wash at home. |

If you find yourself rinsing it off a coupla times a day, that's a bad sign and therapy may be necessary. Don't be creeping over speed bumps at 1.4 MPH, either. It's a TRUCK!!!!!! ![]()

Remote start, leave the A/C on MAX when you get out of the truck.
