Montreal F1
Love this race. Been there many times. Saw the race when Nigel Mansell got busy waving to the crowd before he ALMOST won, only to stall and hand it to Piquet.
Was there to see Michael Andretti racing for McLaren, partner to Senna, fail to start from the grid, after a good quali slot lost to a bad clutch. Saw Senna there several times, I'll never forget that. Saw Panis crash hard and break his leg, right in front of us. Saw the beautiful new green Pepsi/7-up Jordons run well. Pretty cars. Sat at the first turn a lot and saw ALOT of first lap crashes. Saw alot of fun in and around Montreal. Great city. So who do you like this weekend? Ham is always good here. Maybe his day?? |

![]() De Cesaris ran well in Montreal when I saw it and I was hoping for a win by him. He was kind of a train wreck, poor guy. Nice car, good colors, nice OZ's |

De Cesaris - wasn't he the guy who had some kind of seizures that made his eyes roll up into his head? I'm not kidding about this! It would happen while he was driving, from what I understand.

Sounds about right, he had a lot of chances but never quite got there for a win.

Who do you think will be the first of the front runners to overcook the final chicane this year and get their suspension re-aligned on the wall of champions?

Most likely to whack the wall? Massa, (hope he doesn't) Perez, Grosjean,.
Least likely? Alonso wont hit it, he's too cagey for that nonsense. But hope he does. Kimi also is too sly for that. Vettel is more than capable if anyone gets under his skin. And I think one of the Merc drivers WILL hit it! BTW, here's a who's/who of the big guns who HAVE hit it. Jacques V., Michael S., Damon H., Ruben, Jenson, JPM, Kobyashi, Seb Vettel, Pastor Trulli, Berger, Coulthard, and Ralf and some old guys like Warwick and a few others. |

Alonso fastest in practice. They said that the last time he did that he won the race.

Using my great powers of perception, I predict that Romain Grosjean will be fast in practice but his race will end early when he tries to cohabitate with another driver on course.
This will be followed by the announcers stating that "he is fast, but he seems to have some pretty bad luck..."

Looks like wet quali, and surprisingly showers are now forecast for tomorrow afternoon, so might be interesting.
Last years pole time was 113.784 (Vettel) and fastest lap was (115.72) we'll see how close we'll get to that this year. |

Just a couple of pictures to pass the time while waiting for quali in about 2 hrs
Street scene from Cresent street, wish I was there. Man that Island (man made) is skinny. Easy to get wet there. ![]() ![]()
