Penquins versus Bruins

Matt Cooke (ended Mark Savard's career)
Jerome Iginla
There's definately some emotions going into the Eastern Conference finals.
Should be interesting.
Oh how sweet it would be if Jerome has to watch the B's go to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Sweeter still if Cooke and Crosby sit it out again. I'm in Flyers country and am supposed to hate the B's, but I'm pulling for them...there's not a team with more heart in hockey, really.

Well I'm not a big Pens fan but it would be nice and also fitting to see our former captain, Jarome Iginla, finally get his Stanley Cup win. We came so very close in 2004 against Tampa Bay but poor officiating negated a Stanley Cup winning goal in game 6.....argggh!....everybody here in Calgary remembers that one!

OTOH Por_sha911, I didn't really mind the B's over the Canucks in 2011! Being a long time Habs fan (well before the Flames were in existence), that was probably the only time that I was rooting for the big, bad Bruins!

Some would prefer to see him lose in Game 7. Or immediately, four straight to the team that he 'agreed' to play for....

Yah maybe.....but JI is not the first nor will he be the last marquee player to waive a no-trade clause in order to join certain contending teams to get a shot at winning it all.....it happens all the time nowadays! And, let's face it, Jarome has given some 15 years to a ....gulp....here goes....less than stellar team....that really only came close once during his tenure and...regretably....is not headed in that direction anytime soon! ....that was a tough statement to upchuck!

If you think Iginla is going to be much of factor in this game, there are about 10 other players who should concern you more. Other then giving Jagr boo's, Pen's fans could care less about him not joining the Pens, his old team that he won a cup with, and going with the Flyers. And now with the Bruins. Same thing happened with Hossa. I think the biggest issue is you have a player that had a choice and he chose who he thinks is the better team. Being jilted is never easy! I guess we will find out Pen's in 5.

Would you stop telling the truth?.... Please?

Iginla is 6th in playoff points right now. I hope he gets his chance and doesn't get denied a cup due to a missed goal in game 6 again....

On paper it would look like a Pen's blow out but it won't be that easy on the ice, IMO the Pens will win it in 6 but it will be some great hockey.
Skidmeat Crosby lost the lower mask, kinda convenient timing if you ask me, hit him up high and your gonna get a penalty, embellished or not, he is the darling of the NHL after all, give him room and Skid will kill ya every time. Going to be a tough series to call for the ref's and IMO the ref's have done a crappy job so far in this years playoffs.
Sorry Joe but your "B's" are going down.

The answer to that is to check him into the second row within the first two minutes of the first game and get it out of the way. Legal check of course.

There will be some after the whistle get-togethers...

The B's are the not favored to win but that's when they play some of their best hockey. Never say die. Win by committee. Cover Krug and Thrornton or Paille will score. Cover Jagr and Bergeron, Seguin, and Marchand will score. Cover them and, oh, never mind, you get the idea.

Just the fact that you think it will go to 6 games means you have this nagging suspicion that the unthinkable will happen. The B's will wear you down and the longer it goes the better our chances. If the Pens don't take it in 4-5 then I predict the B's in 6 or 7.

In the meantime, I'm pulling for the Wings (you gotta love an underdog...)

The Bruins are...oh, you meant the Red Wings. Yes they are.
Edit: Oh well, Blackhawks take in OT

Given that the Hawks were robbed by a terrible call late in the third period it is only fitting that they won it in OT.

Was cheering for the Wings but the Hawks really deserved it.

That one play from the blue line that turned into a passing clinic resulting in a Hawks goal was amazing and bound to be a highlight reel favorite for some time.

Just remember you heard it here first.

8 pm EST NBC TV. Be there.

THe Pens need to keep their heads up when they have the puck or they may find themselves seated next to a fan in the 2nd row!

Sounds like your trying to cover every base possible Everyone knows the longer a series goes on, the better the chance for the weaker team to win. Game 7 is anyones.

With the ensuing power play gathering goals, it would only take a few for the Bruins to play smart. If they want to take the chance, (a 30% one), I'm sure the Pens won't mind a few hits traded for goals.
