how to remove dually pick up bed

So about 2 months ago I purchased a used flatbed for my 2001 GMC diesel dually . I've been tinkering with it as weather permits . So now I have to start thinking about removing the OEM dually bed . I've never removed one before but it looks rather simple . Any tricks to know before starting the project ? I will use my 2 post lift to lift it off the chassis but roughly how much do these weigh ? If anyone is looking for a dually bed this will be going up for sale once it is removed .

A tarp and some duct tape and you could have a nice wading pool

If it's anything like my brother's '98 dually, I'd guess the weight at between 300-500 lbs.

Ya just unbolt 'er, and then floor it dude. The truck takes off and the bed hits the ground. It's like pullin a table cloth out from under your dishes. No problem, you got this!

Back in, lift it off, set it down on some furniture dollies. Maybe George has some wheels left from his 911 modifications, you could make your own, nah too much trouble.

power wash under there so you don't make too much of a mesh around your lift.

Can't speak t a dually but a friend and I were able to lift the bed off of a F350 and we're not built like the Hulk.
OH! and if you have to grind the head off of the bed bolts, put a piece of metal over your rear window... I won't say why out of embarrassment, just take my word for it. And if you can see the bolts from the bottom, spray them for a few days with Kroil or PB Blaster before you try to back them out.

I had the truck up on a lift today as I was doing a muffler delete . Looked everything over underneath there is very little rust being a southern truck . Found all 8 bolts they look good to . I will remember to remove all fasteners from the fuel filler and pull all electrical connectors . My dually bed also has a wiring connector in the bed on the drivers side tailgate post for an RV connection so will have to deal with that . I will also have to transfer over the flush mount goose neck hitch . That should be fun cutting out that square in 5/16 thick steel
