SS United States Fund Drive
The SS United States Conservancy has started a fund drive to restore the liner. The website allows you to fund parts of the ship by the square inch:

From 1966 -1968 my father was stationed in Wertheim Germany. He purchased a 1968 912 while there with pick up at the Porsche factory. He gifted me the car a few years back! The USAR sent us back to America aboard that onetime great vessel the SS United States. We have pics somewhere with the 912 getting loaded aboard and later unloaded. Different times...
