I was thinking OP pic was Fields, Oregon...or Alvord Ranch. Looks abandoned...and Fields is on the other side of the Steens.

We need a north/south designation. It is irrigated. It is dry. But is it frozen or salt pan? Interior high desert would be my guess.

They named that pork boondoggle solar one, which is ironic because I used to work at the original solar one near Barstow over 30 years ago but it was bull-dozed because it was too innefficient and expensive to operate.
