Eerie or touching, but certainly amazing
A friend's mother recently died at the age of 80. She had suffered from dementia for 10 years and did not speak or get out of bed for the last 18 months. She was essentially comatose. As her organs began to shut down, her family gathered around to be with her at the end.
Then, she opened her eyes. She said, "I love you," blew a kiss, and was gone. Just like that.

A beautiful story, actually. Thanks for sharing.

I love those kind of stories. My MIL used to care for elderly. She was with a number of them when they passed. She said it was typically a beautiful thing. A comforting thought. Please don't wreck it.
