"You in a heap a trouble..."

Hernandez that is., Guess he installed the video surveillance system just in time. What an idiot. Was it too much money? Too much drugs? Or not enough of something else?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1372333166.jpg

Will enter prison as a tight end, will leave as a wide receiver....

...good thing they've got Tebow, eh?

Porsche-O-Phile 06-27-2013 04:15 AM

Money can't fix stupid.

Simply a matter of not leaving his thug lifestyle behind him as he moved into adulthood.

It really is unbelievable.

Is part of this is the NFL culture?

Twenty-seven active players have been arrested in total so far, most notably star New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Since the Super Bowl on February 3, NFL players have been arrested for common crimes like DUI and public intoxication, but also for things like street racing, child abuse, and trying to solicit a prostitute.

It's a brutal sport and they're not looking for Rhodes scholars in the NFL draft. They do hope to find guys that are not heading straight to prison, but it's a crap-shoot.

I agree that AH seems to be about as smart as your average pit bull. He should be put down before he can breed.

sammyg2 06-27-2013 08:05 AM

I'm shocked, he looks like such an upstanding citizen :)

I find it ironic that his quarterback at floor-E-duh (2007-2008) was also a great athlete and the type of person WHO IS NOT A LOW-LIFE THUG, but he got bashed bigtime here and in PARF last year simply because of his beliefs.
We'll see if the same degree of flaming gets directed toward this alleged murderer.

Intelligence has absolutely nothing to do with it. I know plenty muscle-bound guys of--ahem--average IQ who are good-hearted, trustworthy men.

I'm sure a majority of the players in the NFL are outstanding guys, but the pathetic part is there is no shortage of people who "look up" to the thugs.

True dat and great point, Mike.

Hernandez will no doubt have his posse in the slammer.

When I see comments (for example on my Gator forum) that smoking pot or getting busted for stealing a scooter is no big deal, I know we are dealing with a breakdown of societal values. Those who make those comments have no moral compass and to think of how they are raising their kids is a bit disconcerting.

BTW, I try to remain optimistic that kids will ultimately find their own path to morality and hopefully be mentored by positive role models but then there are those (like the kid shooting wildlife in cages) whom I really have my doubts about.

And I realize smoking pot is legal now in some states but when you are in a sports program where taking drugs is forbidden and you still do it - you are in violation of program policy in addition to breaking a promise you made to the program. Not very honorable, IMHO.

Too late...

"Defense attorney Michael Fee has said that the evidence is circumstantial and that bail should be granted so that Hernandez can return home to spend time with his fiancee and 8-month-old child."

Raiders waive LB Rolando McClain

April 5, 20134

Quote:

McClain also had problems off the field. He was involved in a shooting in Alabama in November 2011 when he left the team briefly during the season to attend a family funeral. McClain had been convicted of four misdemeanors in May but he appealed and the charges were dropped when the accuser told prosecutors he no longer wanted to pursue the case.

And Tebow was going to be the distraction for the team !!! What a joke, this kid had it all and blew it for such a petty reason. As others have stated you can't fix STUPID ! :(

Wonder if someone was trying to "silence" the witnesses:
