I heard they were expensive, but $200-$300 is crazy.

Those rings are supposed to be cooling rings like on a cylinder sleeve, and intended to be functional allowing for a cooler burn.

I'll stick with the pipe I have.

I smoked a pipe for a few years and like a good cigar now and then (very rare to have a stogie anymore).

Having said that I don't think tobacco is making a comeback anytime soon.

My wife was out of town a few weeks ago so I stop by one of our cigar shops... closed... go by a large high end liquor store that has a walk in humidor... only had a few boxes...

Just went to a memorial service last month for my father-in-law "The Colonel" who was a daily pipe smoker and lost his 2 yr bout with throat cancer. At 83 he had a good run but man that is a hard way to go.

Can't touch tobacco. Quit cigs the day before RRIV, and don't want to have that monkey ever again. Sure miss the Cigar and Pipe though. But still not worth the risk of cigs.

I'm with Danimal.... Gave it all up five years ago, but if I could pick up one thing it would be to smoke a pipe again. I miss the ritual, the 7MM Mag shell I used to tamp the bowl, I miss the smell of the tobacco...

I've got two beautiful girls that need to grow up with a dad that doesn't smoke though. I will always be able to tell them that I had to quit and it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I get to tell them that they are worth it, and I hope they never start...
