Oi,big ass varmit under the house.

Got me a fat female raccoon. Rather than terminating her, I would prefer to trap and release. Or drop her in Goatblowers pants after a meth injection.

Thinking of the trap just inside the entrance....any ideas?

Fatschithead growled at me....

Raccoon Baits: How to Catch Raccoons with Bait

Them critters is mean and smart...

edit: and nocturnal. One out in the daytime means she is either protecting her offspring or maybe rabid. Call animal control.

I have the same problem.
****er growled at me.
trap, and release elsewhere = dead racoon, according to my research.
Where the is one, there are usually many, as in MANY.
Good luck.

Cat food works great - the canned preferred but dry works also.

Use a "Have-a-heart" trap - you can probably borrow one from the local animal shelter or rent one fairly cheap. I'd loan you mine if we were a bit closer.

Those females are real nasty! Don't ask me how I know!

Trapping here in FL is legal but transporting is not without some type of paperwork authorization BS so when you re-locate do it in stealth mode.

Sending pics next email....

racoons are very very territorial. They live in distinct 3 block areas about an acre to two acres in size. I think you can release them up to a mile away with no problems for an adult.

I've heard that it's NOT a good sign that a raccoon is out in daylight, Rabies.

My first thought when I saw the pictures. Raccoon's aren't usually seen in the daytime.

Got me. LMFAO, Jim.

Seriously though...isn't it bad juju when a raccoon is out in daylight AND that fearless of humans? The fact that she is cruising all over would seem to rule out the 'protecting her young' notion. Does that leave rabies?

You've got a pup right Joe? Might want to make sure he/she's locked up.

Some pics.....

I usually put something heavy on top of the trap to keep it from turning over - these guys are pretty clever and will move things around if it helps them access the food....
