You really think it was intended to help guys with football injuries while putting soldiers with combat injuries on waiting lists?

Yes. It's easy to find excuses for unethical behavior. How far does it extend? Is it unethical to cut and run in the heat of a battle? After all, your very life could be at stake. Why is unethical behavior acceptable when money is involved?

I agree she should "go after them." However in the real political world of Congress, it can't be done that way - directly. If she or anybody tries to do something like that, she/they will have to make it a long term campaign conducted politically and good luck on taking down or modifying such a huge beaurocracy. You can't do anything directly (unfortunately) but via political gamesmanship. We've all heard how politicians answer direct questions.

There's hardly a more vile Machine Democrat than Tammy Duckworth. They've tried for years to get her into Congress--forcing her to move three times to be in the borders of districts. They finally gerrymandered her a can't-lose district in 2010. Do some research on her, she's been involved in multiple Solyndra-like scandals, except that she was fraudulently handing out VA money to her donors. Like so many in the Chicago Machine, she will never pay for her crimes.

ethics and integrity.

Shame on Tammy Duckworth for expecting something more from fellow Americans.

If a system can be gamed, dammit, it should be gamed. It must be gamed. That's the very foundation of our great country.

Why work hard when you can get something for free? The Spirit of America. Timely as we'll be joined together as country in just a few short days remembering the time-honored traditions our Founding Fathers employed swindling our country right out from under the British feet in a game of three-card monte, a lone Frenchman the straight man in the crowd.

The statement that "she used him" implies that he is being victimized. In fact, whether he is or not being "used" is a rather interesting way to neutralize this dirtbag's lack of integrity. He still seems willing to justify his "injury" serving this country, so why soften up on his total lack of principles regarding this injury? Is he not still being rewarded for this position? (Using us)
Also, for my old unsophisiticated self, exactly why and how is the reference to mau-mau used in this exchange?
