My Son joined the United States Army!!

I could not be any more proud of my son Jason for joining the Army! He is the middle of 3 sons and the first to enlist. His report date is the 15th of April to the local M.E.P.S. and he will be enjoying his basic training in Fort Benning GA. His M.O.S will be 91M. Bradley fighting vehicle maintainer.

He will be working on weapons systems I am very familiar with. Good Luck Jason!

Hoo-ah, CrustyChief, we're all proud of our young men and women who serve. All the best to him and you as he learns his job and makes his way up the ranks.

Hats off to your son, mine graduated from Ft Jackson, SC in October '11.
It would be nice if the Army would come through and pay for a bit of his pharmacy college but we'll manage if they don't.

Congratulations!!! A sure sign of good parenting.

My girlfriends son is leaving for the Marines later this month. I have been working out with him and helping him memorize his general orders and rank since Thanksgiving. We were just scheduling our vacations around his boot camp graduation. This will be weird. The last time I was at MCRD I was standing on the parade deck in a class a uniform.

Great news, Sandy. While Jason has a lot of decisions to make in the coming years, his choice to serve our great country will impact the rest of his life.

My best to him and your family.

Will he have any choice in the position he gets? How does that work? Also, congrats!

That's tremendous! It's the beginning of a journey that lasts a lifetime, regardless of service length.

May he enjoy fair winds and following seas wherever he travels.
