Triumph Thruxton? (Or modern Bonnevilles)
Curious if anyone has/had a fuel injected Triumph Thruxton? Damn nice looking bikes.
Are the engines 'buzzy' at highway speeds? 67 hp? Did you feel the power was lacking? |

i've driven my friend's 2007 bonnie. having owned a hot-rodded '77 bonnie, i have a bit of a reference on the bike. it was a lot of fun. certainly more refined than my '77. plenty of torque and really smooth power delivery. the engine didn't seem 'buzzy' to me at all. 67HP is plenty, IMO, unless you want to go 140+. he's had zero problems with it.

I owned an 05 carbureted Thruxton. Great bike - nice build quality, bullet proof motor, hard core retro looks. Fun to ride, power OK but not great. Not buzzy. Pretty smooth for a parallel twin. Wish I kept it.

I have a 2009 Bonnie T100 which I bought new in 2008. I have a short 5 mile commute to work and ride it just about everyday. I don't like taking the 911 on such a short drive.
I have a 17 tooth sprocket on my bike for more low end. They are very smooth bikes and super reliable. I rode a '79 Bonnie for years, and it would have issues constantly. As I don't ride the freeway, I rarely take it up above sixty. You should try to get some seat time on one and see if it's the right bike for you. The EFI bikes are really nice. I love mine! John
