Update. I went ahead with the silver performer. It was a good buy. The ash catcher is great and it also came with the grate that opens to the side. I only had to buy the charcoal containers to complete the package. I have had friends over 3 times already and fed up to a dozen people with ease 100% off the grill - including grilled vegetables, corn, potatoes etc.

Only the wheels are plastic. The frame and table are metal. The difference between the silver and the gold is the gas starter burner and larger (plastic) table on the gold.

Thanks for your input. Happy grilling / bbq-ing!

Hope you love it. My weber will not die! I want one like yours. Simply for the ash catcher. I'm convinced my open pan ash catcher was designed by Beelzebub and will give me lung cancer. I spill 100% of the time.

I'm hoping mine rusts out. I don't expect it will. They have a new grate now with a circle in the middle, so you can set a wok!!!!! I keep fixing mine for very little money. Gah.

Family dinner tonight! From top to bottom in image: Baked potatoes, black rock fish filets, antelope brats, mule deer backstrap, onions and asparagus.

The vegetables I buy, the rest we hunt down or catch ourselves! I make the brat but have to buy some domestic pork, as wild game has practically zero fat - no bueno for sausage ...
